Around 4 million people in the U.K suffer from Dust Mite related allergies and they are responsible for being the number one asthma trigger worldwide. Experts agree that up to 85% of asthmatics are allergic to dust mite allergens.

The Cause

Experts believe that House Dust Mites are linked to allergic sufferings, causing many people distress.

Our modern central heated homes are ideal for the dust mite, with our mattresses being the most common breeding ground.

Each one of these microscopic creatures can deposit up to 30 faecal droppings a day, and it is these which cause the problem. These droppings contain their stomach enzymes and it is this which causes allergenic reactions in allergic people.

As we sleep at night we move around in our beds and this causes these tiny particles to become airborne and it is when they are inhaled or come into contact with the skin they can provoke allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, asthma or eczema.
